Belén Díaz-Agudo is a tenured Full Professor at the UCM and one of the world’s leading experts on CBR. She has a background in ontologies and semantic reasoning. She obtained her PhD in Computer Science in 2002, supervised more than 10 PhD thesis, and led many national (Plan Estatal I+D+i 2013-2016, 2017-2020) and European projects (H2020) related to Platforms for CBR systems, reusable CBR methods, personalization in recommender systems and explanations. She has published 100+ research papers in the fields of expert systems, knowledge representation, CBR, recommender systems, including papers in journals such as Journal of Knowledge-based Systems, ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology Decision support systems and Expert systems with applications. She is a Senior Program Committee member for several conferences on Artificial Intelligence, IJCAI, Cognitive Systems (CogSys) and ICCBR. She has organized workshops in XAI, and she has been program chair for the International Conference on CBR.
